How to optimize the usage of GlobePEER and GlobePEER Remote

A BGP configuration guide

All our locations provide a local peering ecosystem, built by networks using the GlobePEER service. In addition, with access in one of our interconnected locations, you can peer remotely using GlobePEER Remote at every other one of these locations providing you with additional peering ecosystems.

This guide explains the DE-CIX services GlobePEER and GlobePEER Remote and gives router configurations examples for traffic optimization (configuration snippets for Cisco and Juniper routers).

Local and remote peering ecosystems

It shows you how to keep local traffic local by using the GlobePEER service while getting the most out of remote peering with the GlobePEER Remote service.

You will learn, for example, how to configure local peering at DE-CIX Dusseldorf or DE-CIX Marseille while simultaneously using GlobePEER Remote in Frankfurt to peer with networks connected in Frankfurt.
