Ivo Ivanov

Ivo Ivanov
CEO DE-CIX Group AG

Ivo Ivanov has been Chief Executive Officer at DE-CIX and Chair of the Board of the DE-CIX Group AG since 2022. Prior to this, Ivanov was Chief Operating Officer of DE-CIX and Chief Executive Officer of DE-CIX International, responsible for the global business activities of the leading Internet Exchange operator in the world. He has more than 20 years of experience in the regulatory, legal and commercial Internet environment. Ranked as one of the top 100 most influential professionals of the Telecom industry (Capacity Magazine’s Power 100 listing, 2021/2022), Ivo is regularly invited to share his vision and thought leadership in various industry-leading conferences around the globe.

Having joined DE-CIX in 2007, he has been deeply involved in recent years in the establishment of DE-CIX sites in North America, Southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia, along with several DE-CIX consultancy projects in Africa, Asia and Europe. His strategic vision has led to close to 40 DE-CIX locations globally, as well as the development of a range partnership models to sustain DE-CIX’s global expansion, bringing neutral, high-performance, low-latency interconnection services – including services for the enterprise sector – to as many regions of the globe as possible, helping to close the gaps in access to information and modern digital services.

Ivo has also been instrumental in the establishment of the DE-CIX/UPF Global Interconnection Academy in Barcelona, to be rolled out globally as a hybrid training program together with local educational partners in each region. The creation of the Interconnection Academy seeks to provide a global standard certificate of excellence for interconnection experts.

Ivo has an educational background focused on Law and Business. Fluent in German, English, Russian and Bulgarian, he attended a German business school and holds two Law degrees. After graduation, he worked as a lawyer, with a focus on e-commerce, IP, telecommunications, and data protection law.

 

Thomas King

Dr. Thomas King
CTO DE-CIX Group AG

Dr. Thomas King has been Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at DE-CIX since 2018, and a Member of the DE-CIX Group AG Board since 2022. Before this, King was Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) at DE-CIX, starting in 2016. He has been instrumental in his role at keeping DE-CIX at the forefront of technological development of Internet Exchanges, establishing DE-CIX as a neutral Cloud Exchange, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in terms of high-bandwidth access technology and security solutions for IX platforms, and trailblazing the automation of IX services with the implementation of patch robots, the development of the DE-CIX API, and overseeing the DE-CIX self-service customer portal. Thomas King has also overseen the technical implementation of the international expansion in markets spanning from North America to Europe, the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, and most recently Africa.

He started his career as a member of the technical staff at DE-CIX in 2008. In 2010, Thomas King joined 1&1 Internet AG as a Product Manager responsible for mobile applications and mail. In 2011, he founded the startup company audriga, for automatically migrating email accounts from one hosting provider to another. Dr. King re-joined DE-CIX as Head of Research & Development in 2014.

Thomas King received an diploma degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany, in 2004, and a Ph.D. degree at the chair of Computer Networks from the University of Mannheim in 2008.

 

Christian Reuter

Christian Reuter
CSO DE-CIX Group AG

Christian Reuter has been Chief Sales Officer at DE-CIX since 2022, and is responsible for the global sales and marketing activities of the Internet Exchange operator. In addition, Christian Reuter is a Member of the DE-CIX Group AG Board. Prior to this role, from 2018 to 2022, Reuter was Regional Vice President EMEA and Managing Director at Bluecat Networks, responsible for the rebuilding and expansion of the channel network in EMEA, incl. distributors, value added resellers, and managed service providers, and for the development of a structure for the successful support of enterprise customers. From 2016 to 2018, Christian Reuter was Vice President Sales Central Europe at Yubico and Managing Director of Yubico GmbH, responsible for Central Europe becoming the strongest region internationally in the enterprise environment.  

Reuter garnered further international experience in the expansion of gateprotect (today Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity) to North America – in 2010 to Canada and in 2011 to the USA – with the establishment of gateprotect Inc. (Santa Clara, CA). In this role, which he held until the company was sold to Rohde & Schwarz in 2013, he was instrumental in the building of an organization for coast-to-coast support of partners and customers. Subsequent to his return to Germany in 2014, Reuter was appointed to various leading positions at Intel Security and Cyren for the sales of enterprise solutions.  

The trained wholesale and foreign trade merchant additionally founded his own systems consultancy with a focus on managed connectivity solutions for SMEs, as well as connectivity and project service provision for enterprise customers.  

 

Sebastian Seifert

Sebastian Seifert
CFO DE-CIX Group AG

Sebastian Seifert is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the DE-CIX Group AG, a role he took on in December 2018. A qualified economist, his previous roles have included CFO for the IT service provider SEVEN PRINCIPLES AG, and most recently, CFO of Reflex, a paper manufacturer from Düren (Germany). 

Sebastian Seifert has more than 15 years’ know-how in the establishment of structures and processes in growing organizations. Through his previous activities as an Investment Manager for a Venture Capital company and as CFO of the SEVEN PRINCIPLES Group, which experienced strong inorganic growth, Seifert also has proven experience in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions and Integration.

Parallel to his in-company training as a banker, Sebastian Seifert studied Business Administration. Following his studies, he worked as an Investment Manager for a VC company. This was followed by various senior management positions, as well as positions on supervisory boards, in growing companies in the IT sector. Before joining DE-CIX, Seifert was employed as the CFO of the paper manufacturer Reflex, with a focus on Restructuring and Turnaround.
