Get connected and peer in Johor Bahru
Powered by JBIX, DE-CIX Johor Bahru offers a distributed platform which enables all kinds of ISPs, CDNs, cloud providers, and network operators to exchange data. The Internet Exchange is operational and more than 40 national and international players already peer at Johor Bahru. The list of connected networks includes international players like Google, Twitter, Facebook, but also networks like Globe Telecom, operator of one of the largest mobile, fixed line, and broadband networks in the Philippines. A full list of the connected networks can be found here.
DE-CIX will also introduce a shared interconnection platform where participants of both the Kuala Lumpur exchange and the Johor Bahru exchange will be able to interconnect.
Only a stone's throw away from Singapore
Johor Bahru is one of the biggest cities in Malaysia and lies right at the border to Singapore. Being the southern-most city of the Peninsula Malaysia, Johor Bahru has a population of half a million, and is an important fiber interchange point between Singapore, Malaysia, and the Indochina countries (with an overall population of 230 million). Peering in Johor Bahru keeps traffic local and closer to eyeballs, while also reducing costs compared to peering in Singapore. Access to the platform is available in two DE-CIX-premium enabled sites in Johor Bahru.
