The Interconnection Academy – supporting new interconnection talent

Together with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona we have taken the first steps to launch a training program to support the creation of talent with advanced interconnection business and engineering skills and knowledge. 

The agreement between DE-CIX and the UPF was signed on 15 October to formalize the partnership. The Interconnection Academy is aimed both professionals and students, with UPF providing academic knowledge through their Department of Information and Communication Technologies, and DE-CIX offering the operational knowhow.

A global standard for interconnection experts

The Interconnection Academy seeks to provide a global standard certificate of excellence for interconnection experts through the transfer of both business and technical knowledge.

Interconnection is one of the key enablers of digital transformation and every enterprise and organization needs to extend the knowledge of their in-house staff to design and implement digital transformation strategies. By combining advanced technical, operational, and business-related knowledge, the Interconnection Academy will help to prepare new talent for the market to satisfy the increasing demand.

The program is planned to be hybrid, starting in 2022 and is planned to be rolled out internationally.
