DE-CIX India has reached a new milestone of connecting over 500 networks across its four Internet Exchanges in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai. In the past two years more than 400 networks have connected to the platform. In the same timeframe, the traffic has also grown massively with OTT & VOD and gaming each increasing by over 2000 percent, and hosting over 200 percent. The Internet Exchange in Mumbai alone has peak traffic of over 1 Terabit per second (Tbps).
Demand for interconnection is growing
The demand for interconnection and bandwidth in India has grown significantly and the country has experienced huge changes in data traffic. DE-CIX India has also expanded its network to 16 points of presence (PoPs), interconnecting cloud service providers, Internet service providers, and end-user networks. The DirectCLOUD service is also available in Mumbai, enabling customers to connect to cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and Amazon Web Services.
