New DE-CIX Frankfurt enabled sites: Pfalzkom and TelemaxX

We are happy to announce three more DE-CIX-enabled sites for DE-CIX Frankfurt: Pfalzkom DCRN I and DCRN II, located in Mutterstadt, and the TelemaxX IPC4 data center in Karlsruhe.

By adding Pfalzkom’s two data centers Rhine-Neckar I and Rhine-Neckar II, networks located in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region get direct access to all networks connected at DE-CIX Frankfurt and all available services such as GlobePEER, GlobePEER Remote, DirectCLOUD, and VirtualPNI.

The same holds true for the TelemaxX IPC4 data center in Karlsruhe. Networks connected there can take advantage of all DE-CIX services and get direct access to all networks connected at DE-CIX Frankfurt, and in addition, via the GlobePEER Remote service, to hundreds of networks in Europe and the US.

Extending the metro reach

Both the two Pfalzkom data centers in Mutterstadt as well as the TelemaxX data center in Karlsruhe are examples of how the metro reach of Internet Exchanges like DE-CIX Frankfurt is extending. The new enabled sites are between 100 and 130 kilometers away from Frankfurt, so – in data speed – about one millisecond. For several years now, we have noticed increasing demand for fast and secure data exchange in more and more major metropolitan regions. By enabling data centers within this extended radius to become DE-CIX enabled sites, more and more networks in different metro regions are interconnected, and the demand for fast and secure data exchange can be met.
