DE-CIX has taken another important step to improve network security – this time in India.
DE-CIX India is the first Internet Exchange in India to implement IRR (Internet Routing Registries) filtering to prevent the propagation of incorrect routing information – a major cause of many incidents. IRR allows us to check the announced routes against the IRR data, helping to mitigate against common threats, such as IP hijacking or Internet fraud.
Security has always been a very important topic at DE-CIX, and the DE-CIX route servers have always provided a high level of protection. We are proud to bring these security measures to our exchanges in India for the good of the Internet.
