Data Center Market, a Spanish industry publication, has held its 2021 awards ceremony recognizing the most interesting projects carried out throughout the past year. DE-CIX was recognized in the DPC Connectivity (data center connectivity) category for our interconnection services at the Global Switch data center in Madrid.
Latency improvements for customers
Through our presence, the customers of Global Switch Madrid can connect to the leading neutral interconnection ecosystem in Southern Europe and take advantage of our interconnection services, such as connecting to cloud service providers in our Cloud Exchange, and remotely connecting to other DE-CIX locations.
Markel Gruber, General Manager of Global Switch España, who presented the award, paid tribute to the improvement in latency that they have been able to offer their customers. He also highlighted the fact that they have been able to reduce their costs as well as enriching the digital transformation process.
Supporting interconnection requirements
The award was received by Theresa Bobis, Regional Director Southern Europe at DE-CIX, who emphasized that our presence at the Global Switch data center will enable all customers from different industry verticals to access the DE-CIX interconnection ecosystem, and that it helps to support the interconnection requirements of the ever-growing demands of sophisticated applications.
Participants at the online event were welcomed by the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, who emphasized the city's commitment to becoming a digital hub for Southern Europe.
