MetroVLAN
The MetroVLAN service allows all DE-CIX customers to interconnect between two DE-CIX parties using a VLAN standardized after 802.1Q.
The service MetroVLAN based on the DE-CIX fabric (operated switches and switch ports) and it allows two DE-CIX customers to exchange IP-traffic privately.The assigning party orders and pays the MetroVLAN service and is first contact for the service implementation between the two parties.
The MetroVLAN service can be used on existing or additional peering ports.DE-CIX implements the agreed VLAN ID (>20) and configures the port. The MTU size is adjustable. The default MTU size is 1534 bytes. Multiple VLANs on a port is possible using different q-tags. DE-CIX does not allocate IP addresses for the MetroVLAN service. Please specifiy the VLAN ID in case of any issue.
