We also provide free value-added services such as the DE-CIX route-server which will get you free access to many networks immediately--without the hassle to negotiate agreements with every potential peering partner. The DE-CIX public peering service is the first choice for wholesale, broadband and content providers seeking a robust selection of Internet networks for connectivity to their customers.

Customers access the platform via ports ordered at the speed best suited to meet their needs (200 Megabit Ethernet ("1GE Fractional"), 1 Gigabit Ethernet ("1GE"), 2,5 Gigabit Ethernet ("10GE Fractional"), 10 Gigabit Ethernet ("10GE")).
If you would like to join, you need to have your own Autonomous System Number (ASN)  and your connection has to comply with the DE-CIX technical requirements.

DE-CIX charges a monthly recurring charge ("MRC") for its Public Peering service plus one-time installation fees / non recurring charges ("NRC") for the private interconnect for the connection to the DE-CIX switching infrastructure. There are no additional charges for traffic or the use of the DE-CIX route servers.
Most DE-CIX customers are corporate members of the eco association, too. eco promotes the Internet's commercial development as well as provides advice and support to companies that do business with or on the Internet.
Corporate members of the eco association (eco is the largest European non-profit Internet industry association and the owner of the company that operates DE-CIX) will receive a significant discount on DE-CIX services. eco charges an annual membership fee of EUR 1,500.00 for companies with annual revenues below EUR 500,000.00 or EUR 2,500.00 for companies with annual revenues over EUR 500,000.00.
